Using wikis with healthcare learners (and an international class)
I am spending some time with a healthcare school. The class has students from all over South East Asia and China. They work in groups to produce research documents on health conditions prevalent in this part of the world. I showed them how to work collaboratively with a Wiki.
As an ice-breaker, I got them to create a wiki page each. They have to write a line or two about themselves and their homes. Once they have saved their pages, I get the neighbouring student to edit each other’s page and maybe post a question etc. It is always fun to see them interact. In just 10 minutes or so they are comfortable working with the wiki and also they about each other’s cities and countries.
