Aggregators are tools that let you collect RSS feeds. RSS feeds are a new way of using the web. Instead of going to several sites, you can subcribe to those sites and the new content will come to your feed reader. It is like instead of going to the store to buy the newspaper, you could get it delivered to your home. And not only news, you can subcribe to feeds from people’s blogs, discussions etc. The feed reader or news reader software remembers how much you have read and shows you only the updated content.
Here we take a look at one of the popular news reader software. This one is called Newsgator .
Step 1: This is the main page. You can get this page at www.newsgator.com

Step 2: Click on the “Newsgator online for free” button. You will be able to sign up for the site.

Step 3: Once you are signed up, newsgator lets you choose some popular feeds. Here I am selecting BBC news.

Step 4: You can also add some other feeds. Click on “Add a Feed” link and just paste the feed address. How do I get the feed address?
Go to any blog or site. If the site provides feeds, you will see a “RSS” or “Subscribe to this site” or “Atom” etc. mentioned on the site. Just right click on this link and select “Copy Link” or “Copy URL”. Paste the link over here. If you are confused by this, just type in the name of the site. Newsgator will try to figure out if the site has a feed or not.

Step 5: Click on “Newsgator Online” tab to see all your feeds.

Thanks. I’m going to try it now.
