Bundegi

bundeigi

I got to try out one of my favorite Korean soup - Bundegi. It is made from silkworm larvae. The soup is very spicy and has a lot of garlic.

Where are the tourists?

An inn-keeper on the lookout for guests in Narathiwat, South Thailand.

Terrorism has scared away the tourists over here. I spent a couple of days in the southern provinces of Yala and Narathiwat. At Yala train station, a soldier saw me taking some pictures. He (very politely) asked me to delete all the pictures showing the train or the station. After that I avoided built up areas and spent most of the time in a little fishing village and the nice beach at Narathiwat.

Petaling Street

Petaling Street, A fun shopping place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I was in KL to head up North but it was a long weekend in Malaysia and all the transport was full. I stayed back enjoying some good food and shopping.

TV Buddha

It is Buddha’s birthday today (Buddha Purnima, Vixaka Day, Seokka Tanshin-il etc.) . I was at the Singapore Art Museum. They were exhibiting some works from Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam under the title “Encounters with Modernism”. I like this one by an Korean - American artist Nam June Paik.

The Ice-Cream Man

icecream_man
Singapore is always hot but there is always the ice cream man to look forward to. Here an ice cream man sells a bar of icecream wrapped in a slice of bread. My favorite is the durian flavored ice cream.
