Bilingual Blogs and language learning

One day I was trying to do a Hindi blog. I posted some entries, basically captions for some pictures from my Flickr account. I found it much too tedious to type longer text. The last time I wrote in Hindi was in school about 12 years back. The Mac input system is phonetic so it is very easy to type in Devnagari (the writing system that Hindi uses), but the problem was that I had forgotten some basic spellings and there is no spell check option.

Earlier this week I was talking to Obata san. Obata san just started a Japanese/English blog. I was showing him this other blog by our friend Mousan. Mousan writes about life in Singapore mostly in Japanese but some entries have English text too. She has some interesting (Japanese only) posts on Singlish.

Another friend and I are looking at getting a Chinese language podcast cum blog going. We are thinking of doing a weekly show with a) a short lesson, some phrases, some vocabulary and b) a short discussion on culture, history or travel topic. Ideas, suggestions welcome?

Hi Preetam,

What a wonderful idea! It would be great to be able to listen to learn the language using this kind of technology. When i get some suggestions i shall put them up here.
Hope things are well otherwise. How's the ipod "shuffle"?

Have a great day,
Kaizer.

Hello Kaizer, the shuffle is good. But I am looking at getting a new iPod. My original 5GB one is acting weird. Also need a portable device that can do some audio recording.
